Principal Application

The principal application of SpeedLock Modular Ducting is any manufacturing industry where fumes, dust or other suspended airborne matter requires extraction without leakage of air or conveyed product, into the immediate atmosphere.

These include:

1. Woodworking & cabinet making – shavings & dust including school and TAFE applications
2. Log, sawmill & timber dressing – shavings and bark
3. Food processing – powders
4. Detergent manufacturing – powders
5. Paper & paper products manufacturing – particles, shreds, mulch, paper trimmings
6. Sheet metal work – fumes, shavings, particles
7. Iron & steel manufacturing – heat, welding fumes, general fumes, dust and heat
8. Chemical production – removal of fumes and by-products
9. Brewing – removal of heat and fumes from malting and production
10. Pharmaceutical production – removal of dust
11. Vehicle repair shops – removal of spray paint fumes and welding fumes
12. Boat building – removal of fiberglass sanding, dust, fibres, spray paint fumes and welding fumes
13. Foam rubber – movement of particles in production
14. Plastic recycling – plastic trimmings, PET particles and mulched particles
15. Paint production – removal of fumes and solvents
16. Oil recycling – removal of solvent fumes
17. Fabric manufacturing – movement of wool fibres & fabric fibres
18. Film production – removal of heat and as stage props
19. Polystyrene products – movement of polystyrene beads
20. General dust extraction systems where 350mm water gauge is needed
21. Anywhere dust and fumes are to be conveyed from one point to another without leakage of air or conveyed product to the atmosphere.

The phenomenal success of this particular SpeedLock product is due to the fact that it can be easily modified with very little cost or production downtime.

Tellingly, we are still supplying additional sections for SpeedLock systems that were initially installed some 20 years ago!

What’s more, as SpeedLock is manufactured using only smooth bore technology, it minimises the risk of waste settlement or system clogging.

For applications where some clogging is unavoidable, cleaning of this system is safely and easily managed with either integrated inspection hatches or the ease with which our product can be disassembled.
