| Chilling out on MobyDuct | 12-02-07 |

As each week unfolds, we are finding that our relocatable, flexible MobyDuct is finding more and more applications in the most dedicated applications.
Often these are applications were not immediately apparent to us, so the level of use able to be gained from this new technology seems boundless.
Superchill Australia has become latest carefully selected distributor for Eximo's premium collapsible and reusable ducting system, MobyDuct.
This growing organisation will be installing Eximo MobyDuct on most - if not all - of its large-scale cooling towers to the Australian industrial, mining and tunnelling sectors.
Superchill’s first project since our agreement will see each of 25 mobile cooling towers fitted with 30m of 1200mm-diameter MobyDuct. The company is also changing its moulds to suit the application of this product.
With underground temperatures ranging anywhere from 70°C and above, the reliable performance of MobyDuct ventilation ducting for cooling workers in the mining and tunnelling is critically important.
Superchill air-cooling towers work to reduce underground temperatures to as low as 25°-35°C, depending on the existing humidity of the underground air.
So it is imperative that ducting equipment carrying this air does not falter so to enable the Superchill to constantly convey high quality cooled air to underground workers, allowing them to work for longer periods under a high level of safety and comfort.
To further enhance the safe working environment, MobyDuct is anti-static and flame retardant; significantly reducing the hazardous potential of explosive atmospheres by eliminating sparking caused by static discharge.
MobyDuct has already been installed on various SuperChill projects such as Olympic Dam in South Australia, in several mines in the Mt Isa area of Queensland, and Rosebery in Tasmania.
As well as servicing mining and tunnelling, Superchill also manufactures water cooling towers for Commercial Air Conditioning Systems in various buildings and a wide range of industrial process applications.
The company’s cooling towers are supplied for many customer applications such as: the small nuclear reactor at Lucas Heights; chemical/petroleum industrial companies (including CALTEX); to steel producers like BlueScope Steel; tall residential buildings including Eureka Tower, power generation companies (DOWNER Energy), the IT Industry and many other applications.
EXIMO MobyDuct’s collapsible and reusable design ensures a long lifespan by absorbing the force of any collisions, while its heavy-duty PVC resists potentially corrosive humidity and mineral factors.
MobyDuct is hot-shoe welded rather than stitched. The mining and construction sectors of Europe and Africa are rapidly choosing MobyDuct over rigid ducting systems due to the product’s superior safety features and ease of useability.
The technology is a collapsible and reusable ducting manufactured from reinforced PVC with an internal spring steel helix and a PVC wear strip. It is lightweight, and supplied with suspension stripping, hooks, and wires, and comes standard with air-ring coupling, not skirt coupling, for easy attachment and removal.
MobyDuct is available in sizes from 600mm – 1200mm, and comes in standard white or other colours to order, and has a temperature resistance of -0°C to +50°C.
